Meditation

The importance of meditation cannot be enmphasized enough. All your training will be of no use if you cannot control your mind in times of crisis or stress.
Meditation and martial arts training combined is what will enable you to survive and save others.
Sitting meditation must first be practiced. We encourage our students to make meditation part of their daily habits. Sitting meditation is practiced in the general class and special longer meditation classes are scheduled
The ultimate goal of your martial arts training at Shobu Aikido is to have a peaceful mind even in the face of violent aggression. Not to add or escalate the violence but to take control of the situation and bring it to a peaceful resolution using the techniques of Aikido.
